On November 2, 2023, the 22nd National Conference on Heating Technology and Academic Symposium was successfully convened in the city of Tianjin. This event was jointly organized by the China Academy of Building Research and the Alliance for Technological Innovation in the HVAC Industry.Eminent scholars and experts from prestigious universities across the nation, along with accomplished designers, research scholars, and corporate delegates, converged to delve into the symposium themed "Digitally Empowered Low-Carbon Heating." Together, they explored cutting-edge technologies and achievements in various domains, including integrated heating, clean heating, and intelligent heating.LIJU was graciously invited to participate in this conference.
National Master of Engineering Survey and Design, and the Dean of the Institute of Environmental Energy at the China Academy of Building Research, Mr. Xu Wei, delivered the opening address for the annual conference. He highlighted that, under the prevailing low-carbon policies, the domestic heating industry and heating technologies are progressively transitioning towards greener, more efficient, and smarter solutions. It is imperative to implement the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality strategies, thus contributing to the continuous development of the HVAC sector.

Chinese Academy of Engineering Academician, Director of the Building Energy Efficiency Research Center, and Professor at Tsinghua University, Jiang Yi, in his keynote address, shed light on the current limitations of various heat pumps in practical applications. He pointed out the challenges associated with zero-carbon electricity sources like wind, solar, and nuclear power, which may experience power shortages during winter and summer. Winter heat pump usage may require supplementary thermal power generation. Only when the Coefficient of Performance (COP) exceeds 3 can it be considered genuinely low-carbon and energy-efficient.

"The adjustment of the national energy structure is akin to the onset and end of winter in northern heating; it necessitates a transitional period, progressing steadily toward a multi-energy complementary heating system," declared Liu Nannan, Market Director of LIJU. Her statement instantly captivated the audience's attention. She proceeded to analyze the current state of the gas boiler market within the context of the national dual-carbon goals and energy policies aiming to reduce coal consumption, stabilize oil, and increase gas usage. According to the National Energy Development Report and the 2023 Natural Gas Development Report, it is evident that both natural gas production and consumption are on the rise. The flexible and efficient nature of natural gas supports its synergy with various energy sources. Statistical data from the China Urban Heating Conference Association indicates a year-over-year increase in the share of natural gas boiler heating. Whether in the existing or expanding market, gas boilers are indispensable as primary heat sources, as well as for peak shaving or auxiliary heating, within the framework of a multi-energy complementary heating system.
Energy conservation equates to emission reduction, as only through energy conservation can we reduce carbon emissions. Therefore, enhancing the operational thermal efficiency of gas boilers is of paramount importance. Market Director Liu Nannan from LIJU provided an in-depth analysis of how LIJU's WCB water-cooling premixed Super Gas Hot Water Boiler effectively minimizes various heat losses, achieving fuel savings, electricity conservation, and water preservation. Additionally, she shared some exemplary application cases in citywide district heating, reinforcing the notion that practice is the sole criterion for testing truth.
